  • Who can offer tele -psychotherapy (Online consultation) services?

Those qualified mental health professionals as per the Mental Health Care Act, 2017, who are recognized to practice as clinical psychologists in India, according to the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) guidelines.


  • What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?

A psychologist is a person who completed his/her degree and Post graduation in psychology and M.Phil in clinical psychology, who does psychotherapies and does not prescribe medicines, while a psychiatrist is an MBBS completed doctor who specialized in psychiatry and prescribes medications.


  • How are counseling and psychotherapy different?

Counseling is recommended for specific issues and situations, such as addiction or grief and takes place over weeks to several months, while psychotherapy explore how your past is contributing to your present and it can take place intermittently over a period of months or years. Only a trained person in psychotherapy can provide psychotherapy.


  • How often are therapy appointments scheduled?

Appointments are scheduled according to the severity of the issue, it can range from twice or thrice a week to once in two weeks. As the session progress, interval between two sessions will increase.


  • How many treatment sessions will be needed?

Number of sessions depends on the type and severity of the issue. Usually treatment sessions ranges from 8-10 minimum


  • Is the information discussed in psychotherapy confidential?

The information discussed in the therapy session will be confidential as long as it contains in the ethical boundary.
